If you don’t see color, do you really see ME?
Recently it seems I’ve had conversations with people where the phrase “I don’t see color” has come up more and more. To be honest, I was a bit conflicted
Read MoreChange is a process that begins with an event.
"When I found myself sitting in my attic during Hurricane Katrina with rising flood waters rushing into the house, I realized that change was upon me. Five days later when I was airlifted out of New Orleans and placed on a plane going who knows where, I knew I was starting a new chapter. When I arrived at a Red Cross evacuee camp and saw the chaos around me, I knew life would never be the same. When made the decision to get involved, I felt I could make an impact. When my efforts created successful outcomes, I knew I had found my sweet spot." ~Keisha A Rivers

I've always been an avid reader and an active life-long learner. Growing up, I've had an active imagination that has fueled my ability to connect with the world around me and create opportunities for learning and growth. So by default, I believe that we learn best by relating to things and building connections. This is accomplished by telling stories and providing an opportunity for you to visualize what's being said in such a way that allows you to form connections to the information so that you can use it in ways that will support your growth. My writing style is more conversational because I want you to feel as if you know me and can trust what I'm saying. It's my goal not to just convey information (which is static), but to compel some type of action--and therefore apply what you've read so you can create knowledge. So in short, you'll enjoy a good conversation and in the process pick up some great insights that can guide you in your journey of growth.

Each of us in our own way has a decision to make. Do we look at our lives in terms of “what’s in it for me?” or do we face each day with the realization that we have an opportunity to use what we have and do what we can where we are—to make an impact.
